Can a green card holder leave there spouse and stay in the us.?

ok my wifes friend. her husband beats her she has taken to court and won the case a befor. shes from the philippines. isn't there a rule that if u can prove hes a bad husband she can stay? whats the forms and where can i find this info. can someone help me help her.
